2. Mother and Child Care - 3 Months to 3 Years |

Swamiji called Mother and Child Care ( MCH care ) as “3 months to 3 years” that is, care of a child from three months of conception to 3 years of age. |

This includes proper antenatal care, safe deliveries, immunization, health education and postnatal care. The first three years are the formative years and proper MCH care would ensure that the child gets a head start in life. |

Long before antenatal care was conceived by the West, India knew its importance. There is ample scientific evidence that children while in the womb respond to stimuli such as noise, music and prayers. |

Based on this knowledge, Swamiji advocates that all pregnant women should attend prayer sessions regularly and try to pray and remain calm and entertain only sattvic (pure) thoughts |
